An AI visibility platform for the answers your buyers actually get
Scout LLM tracks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode name your brand when someone asks a buying question, who they name instead, and which sources those answers were built from.
Tracked across every engine your buyers ask
What is an AI visibility platform?
An AI visibility platform measures whether AI assistants name your brand in the answers they write for your buyers' questions, and tells you why. It runs the questions your customers actually ask across the assistants they actually use, records whether you were cited, which competitors were named instead, where in the answer you appeared, and which pages the assistant relied on. It is a measurement system for a surface with no ranking positions, no impressions and, most of the time, no click.

Why can a rank tracker not measure this?
A rank tracker answers one question. Where does this URL sit in a list of ten blue links for this keyword. Every part of that sentence breaks when an assistant answers instead. There is no list, there is usually no URL, the buyer typed a sentence rather than a keyword, and the reply is written fresh rather than retrieved from an index you can query twice and get the same answer from.
What replaces position is presence. Either the answer names you or it does not, and the useful measurements are how often it does across a set of buyer questions, who it names when it does not, and what it read to decide. Those need a different collection method, a different data model and a different report, which is what makes this a platform rather than a feature bolted onto a keyword tool.
What does an AI visibility platform have to do?
Seven capabilities separate a working platform from a dashboard of screenshots. Each one below is worth asking any vendor about, including us, and each is answered with what Scout LLM actually does rather than what it aspires to.
- Cover the engines your buyers use, and say how each one is read
Ask which engines are tracked and how each answer is collected. Google AI Overview is the one to press on. It reaches the widest audience because it sits inside ordinary search results, and it has no public API, so it has to be captured from a real search.
In Scout LLM. Five engines in the pool. Google AI Overview and AI Mode come from a real Google search run through a SERP data provider, with a browser scrape as the fallback for AI Overview. The other three are the vendors' own APIs with web search enabled. A blocked or unavailable engine is reported as a skipped engine, never quietly replaced with another engine's answer.
- Send the buyer's question unchanged
A tool that rewrites your prompt is measuring its own rewrite. Ask whether the question reaching the model is the one you typed.
In Scout LLM. The prompt goes to every engine verbatim. Localisation is a native location parameter rather than appending a city to the text, so a Sydney result is a search made from Sydney rather than a question with "in Sydney" glued to the end.
- Measure presence, share and position, not a single score
One blended number hides the thing you act on. You want how often you are named, how that compares with the brands named alongside you, and where in the answer you land.
In Scout LLM. Visibility Score, Share of Voice and Average Position, each per engine and per region, tracked daily so the line moves with the work rather than resetting on every audit.
- Name the competitors and the sources
Knowing you are absent is half a finding. The other half is who was named instead and which pages the assistant read to decide.
In Scout LLM. Competitors are pulled from the answers themselves and ranked by Share of Voice, with no list to maintain. Cited sources are ranked by domain, which is what turns the report into a plan. It tells you whether the next quarter belongs to a review platform, a directory, a forum or your own site.
- Report sentiment, not just presence
Being named badly is worse than not being named. Ask whether the tool reads how you were described.
In Scout LLM. Every mention is classified positive, neutral or negative, with the wording that produced the classification, so a rising mention count with falling sentiment shows up as the problem it is.
- Localise properly, or admit it cannot
Answers differ by market. Ask whether location is a real geographic signal or a reworded prompt, and ask engine by engine.
In Scout LLM. Google AI Overview searches from the city itself. ChatGPT and Perplexity receive a native user location carrying city, region and country. Gemini has no location parameter at all, so there a city reaches the model only through a one-line locale note, and we say so rather than implying precision we do not have.
- Let the data leave
A platform that can only be read on its own dashboard cannot be put into a client report, a warehouse or an agent workflow. Ask what the export and API story is before you have a year of history locked inside it.
In Scout LLM. CSV and PDF export, white-label reporting on Agency plans, and a read-only API served over both MCP and plain REST from one tool registry, so a Claude client and a Python script get identical figures to the dashboard.
What it measures
How it works
- Step 1
Add a brand and its questions
Your domain plus the questions your buyers ask. Connect Search Console and we suggest prompts from your real search demand instead of guesses.
- Step 2
Pick engines and places
Choose the engines that matter to you and whether each prompt runs globally, in a country, or from a specific city.
- Step 3
We run it every day
Each prompt runs across each engine on a schedule, with answers cached across tenants so the same question is not paid for twice.
- Step 4
Work the gaps
The report ranks the questions you are missing and the sources feeding the answers, then tracks whether the work you ship changes them.
Who it is for
What it costs
A free plan tracks one brand on three prompts across four engines, so you can see the shape of your visibility before paying anything. Paid plans start at A$149 a month and add daily automated tracking, more prompts, and the competitor, sentiment and source analysis the free plan leaves out. Agency plans add unlimited brands, white-label reporting and programmatic access over MCP and REST.
There is no per-seat charge on any paid plan. A team of one and a team of twenty pay the same, because charging per seat on a reporting tool mostly teaches people to share a login.
Everything in the price, on every paid plan.
AI search tracking is a young category and tools package it very differently. Here is exactly what a Scout LLM subscription includes, so you can hold any tool you trial, including ours, to the same list.
The fix, not just the score. Every plan.
Most tools stop at a number. Scout generates the page that wins an answer back, publishes a draft to your CMS, and marks the citation recovered the day an engine starts naming you. Included on every paid plan, not sold as an add-on.
- Four AI engines
- Choose four from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode, the answers your buyers actually read. Claude is an optional paid add-on.
- Daily automated tracking
- Visibility, Share of Voice and Average Position re-measured every day, not a one-off audit that is stale next week.
- Competitor Share of Voice
- Rivals discovered from the answers themselves, then ranked against you. No list to maintain by hand.
- Sentiment on every mention
- How each answer frames you, positive, neutral or negative, with the wording that earned the score. No extra per-check cost.
- Sources and citation gaps
- The domains AI leans on in your category, and the prompts where rivals are cited and you are not.
- AI crawler analytics
- See which AI engines read your site, and tell answer-time fetches apart from training crawls.
- Prompt opportunities
- The questions your own Search Console data says buyers search, that you are not tracking yet.
- Multi-market tracking, down to the city
- AI recommends different brands in different places. Track per country, or down to a single city, so a weak local market is never hidden in a global average.
- Per-prompt action plans
- Not just the score. Specific recommendations, ranked by impact and effort, on a board your team can work through.
- Fixes
- Generate the page that wins an answer from your own tracking data, publish it as a draft to your CMS, and see the citation marked recovered when the engine starts naming you.
- Alerts when things move
- Threshold alerts on score, visibility, competitors and sentiment, by email and to your Slack channel.
- White-label client reports
- On Agency you get your logo, your colour and no Scout LLM branding. A report you can hand a client as your own.
- An instant check
- Any visitor can run a real citation check across the engines before paying anything. No card, no trial clock.
- Agency workspaces and seats
- A workspace per client, unlimited seats on every paid plan, roles that keep client access tidy, and consolidated billing.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI visibility platform?
A tool that measures whether AI assistants name your brand in the answers they write, and explains why. It runs your buyers' questions across the assistants they use, then records whether you were cited, which competitors were named instead, where in the answer you appeared and which sources the assistant relied on.
How is this different from SEO software?
SEO software measures position in a list of links. An AI visibility platform measures presence inside a written answer, where there is no list and usually no click. The underlying work overlaps a great deal, since the pages and profiles an assistant reads are largely the ones SEO already maintains, but the measurement has no equivalent and cannot be derived from rankings.
Which AI engines does Scout LLM track?
A pool of five, which are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode. Paid plans track any four of the five, so you can match the mix to your market, and Anthropic Claude is available as a paid add-on on top. The free plan tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overview.
Is there a free version?
Two. Anyone can run an anonymous visibility check on a domain with no account. A free workspace then tracks one brand on three prompts across four engines, which is enough to see where you stand without paying. Daily automated tracking, competitor and source analysis and multi-market coverage are paid.
How often should AI visibility be checked?
Daily for anything competitive. Answers vary between engines, between cities and between days, so a single check tells you very little and a monthly one cannot separate a real change from noise. Paid plans track daily by default, and a brand can be set to weekly when a slower cadence suits the budget better.
Can it track a specific city rather than a country?
Yes. A tracked prompt carries a region, and that region can be a city such as Sydney, Perth or Austin. Google AI Overview runs the search from that city, and ChatGPT and Perplexity receive a native user location. Each city keeps its own daily series, so one market never averages away another.
What is the difference between AEO, GEO and AI visibility?
They describe the same work from different angles. Answer Engine Optimisation and Generative Engine Optimisation are names for the practice of getting cited in AI answers. AI visibility is the thing being measured, which is how often and how favourably an assistant names you. Nobody has settled the vocabulary yet, so treat the three as synonyms and ask what a tool actually measures rather than which acronym it uses.
