Should you choose Scout LLM or Otterly.AI for AI search visibility?

Otterly is cheaper and we would rather say so up front. Their Lite plan is US$29 a month, covers four engines including Google AI Overviews, refreshes daily and allows unlimited team members, which is more engine coverage per dollar than we offer at the entry tier. Scout LLM answers a narrower question more precisely. We localise a prompt to a named city rather than a country, we carry Gemini and Google AI Mode in the standard pool rather than as add-ons, and we run a fix loop that records whether a published change moved the answer. If budget is the binding constraint, start with them. If city-level measurement or the fix loop is what you need, that is us.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Scout LLM if

You track answers city by city rather than country by country, you want Gemini and Google AI Mode without an add-on, or you want the loop that drafts a fix and then checks whether the engines noticed.

Choose Otterly.AI if

Budget decides it. US$29 a month for 15 prompts across four engines including Google AI Overviews, refreshed daily, is the cheapest published way into this category and we do not match it.

Why is Otterly so much cheaper?

Because the entry plan is small rather than stripped. Fifteen prompts is a genuinely modest allowance, but those fifteen run against four engines including Google AI Overviews, they refresh daily, and the seat count is unlimited. Plenty of vendors charge several times that and hand you one engine, so this is a real price rather than a teaser.

What you buy as you climb their tiers is volume. A hundred prompts costs US$189 and four hundred costs US$489, with extra hundreds available at US$99. Our plan steps move brands, regions and engines as well as prompts, which is the right shape for an agency and the wrong shape for one brand that just needs more questions asked.

The honest summary is that if you have one brand, one country and a tight budget, their arithmetic beats ours and we would rather you knew that from us than worked it out after paying.

What does Scout LLM do that Otterly does not publish?

City-level measurement is the clearest difference. They publish multi-country support across fifty or more countries, which is broad coverage of markets. What is not published is targeting a named city, and that is the axis we built on, because an answer in Sydney is not the answer in Melbourne and a national reading averages the two into something that describes neither.

Engine mix is the second. Gemini and Google AI Mode sit in our standard pool, and on their pricing page both are add-ons alongside Claude. If your buyers use Gemini, price that in rather than reading the headline.

The third is what happens after the number. We draft the page for a question you are losing, publish it, and then record on the next run whether the engines started citing you. They publish audits and recommendations, which is the diagnostic half of the same idea.

Frequently asked questions

Is Otterly.AI cheaper than Scout LLM?

Yes, substantially. Their Lite plan is US$29 a month against A$149 for our Starter. We are cheaper only on the free plan, which does not expire.

Does Otterly track Google AI Overview?

Yes, on every tier including the US$29 Lite plan. That is unusual in this category, where AI Overview coverage is often reserved for a higher tier, and it is a genuine strength of their pricing.

Which engines cost extra on Otterly?

Their pricing page lists Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode as paid add-ons on top of the four engines included in every tier. Gemini and Google AI Mode are in our standard pool.

Can either track a single city?

We can, using a city token that becomes a native location parameter. Otterly publishes multi-country support across fifty or more countries but not city-level targeting, so ask them directly if city precision decides it.
